Design of steelwork connections and assistance with temporary arrangements during construction of steel roof structure to stadium.
The design of the complicated steelwork connections was included in the steel sub-contract. Ryan Associates Consulting Engineers undertook the design of these connections, submitting to the Project Structural Engineer, Arup, for review and where necessary proposing adjustments to the steel frame to accommodate connections. Due to the complicated geometry the connections could not be fabricated as originally envisaged and so considerable effort went into the design to ensure that the aesthetics of the completed stadium structure roof was not compromised.
